How do I stop a Nokia 2.3 syncing the phone contacts as I delete contacts soon as you turn the phone off or reboot the phone starts syncing the contacts again and bang all the contacts that were deleted are back again? been into phone settings, into accounts turned off auto sync data and into google services and turned off auto sync

In reply to DBS. There is likely a better app to replace everything that Google put on Android phones I expect "if" you removed them and then had a "oh damn I might need that one and I've removed it" and .. oh question is I think we can replace them with the actual Google app again if need be?

A lot of my personal reservations have been “I bought this phone I paid fair money and I want it to perform at least at an average pace”, but I have learned that anything below £100 is going to be more than likely a disappointing experience.
The list above therefore is great for people that have decided to make a start at learning how to tweak budget smartphones.
My next step will be “rooting” and then a whole different ball game from then on but I have the capacity to learn I’m certainly hungry to learn how to code as well I’m 47 and different people do different things at different times I guess.

Anything you do in life that makes it slightly better is a step in the right direction.

Thanks for the advice on speed up on the “developer options” I’ve always opened this up and messed about a bit but not really using it properly ..I set the animation scales and all those to .5 and I am considering setting them to NONE as I am already enjoying faster performance I have the Nokia 1.3 which tbh was awful as far as speed is concerned. I am a Nokia fan and I wish I had bought the Nokia TUFF instead but then again I can still buy the TUFF and keep this Nokia 1.3 for default Android “stuff” as it came in handy when setting up my new Smart TV.
Rooting this phone could be an option but I’ll keep that idea to the sidelines for now ..Um oh I installed the Microsoft Launcher and to their credit the phone is a lot nicer as a result.
Back to settings I’m going to set the animations “etc” to NONE and will tell you how that went : Very well FASTER it does make me wonder why Nokia don’t set the phone to this standard from the get go I think they need to get another update to this phone as the reviews are scathing .. most of those customers would probably forgive it’s flaws if they did the little tweaks given on this site.
My personal advice is 1) Developer options (Google how to open those up it’s easy) 2) go to your SCALES and drop the settings down to NONE 3) Install Microsoft Launcher and set it as default
(NOKIA 1.3 or “Slowcoach Sammy” we’ll nickname this model)
